Synopsis
Licata follows collegiate runner Chris Licata, as he confronts the greatest challenge of his life: a collapsed lung. Once defined by speed, routine, and personal bests, Chris must now face a new race ahead of him. One that will push his recovery, identity and faith.
Told through intimate interviews, family archives, and immersive training footage, Licata explores the fragile link between performance and self-worth in the world of competitive sports.
Teaching us that we can all be so much more.

What started as a short interview project for a college course evolved into something much bigger than myself. This film represents over a year of work for me; the longest project of my career. I couldn't be more proud of the result and am thrilled to share Chris's story in this capacity.
My greatest hope is for the core message of Licata to make a meaningful impact on people's lives. Thank you for being here, it means the world to me.

WHY THIS FILM...
(THE REASON BEHIND IT)
I have firsthand witnessed the impact of Alzheimer's Disease through my grandfather and his struggles. I've come to understand Alzheimer's impact extends far beyond the diagnosed, touching the lives of their families and caregivers who navigate the challenges of providing support and understanding and believe that by promoting awareness and research we can provide not only hope for the future but also a network of compassion and resources for those facing this relentless disease.
