MY ROLE

Developed as a part of my application to Ithaca College in 2022, I conceptualized and edited a 30s spec. commercial for Meta's Oculus outlining the practical and real-world applications of its virtual reality technology using stock footage provided by Storyblocks. The final campaign was titled "We're Changing The Game" and all motion graphics were done by myself using Adobe Premiere.

Meta's Oculus Quest, long before it was recognized for it's real-world applications was deemed as simple nothing greater than a gaming console for entertainment. In light of Meta's goals to expand into a greater and more diverse demographic outside of gamers, it was my belief that it would be best to show how the Oculus Quest is practical for all people all with different vocations and needs. Eventually leading me to settle on a creative campaign titled "We're Changing The Game" to show how Meta is changing the reputation around it's product and expanding it's horizons to meet the occupation needs of people.

Building upon this vision,  I further believe that the real-world implications of this technology can serve to reshape industries and redefine how people approach their professions. Imagine a firefighter stepping into a high-stakes rescue scenario, rehearsing critical maneuvers in a hyper-realistic virtual environment to improve reaction times and save lives. Or consider a pilot perfecting a challenging landing approach in a simulated cockpit, enhancing skills and confidence without the risks or costs of traditional training. These practical applications were the basis of my concept advertisement
